Bekaaboo 2 Review : Foolish and Purposeless Thriller overstuffed with Twists and Turns.

Bekaaboo 2 is an Indian Hindi Romantic Thriller web series directed by Aarambhh M Singh. It stars Taher Shabbir, Subha Rajput, Priya Banerjee, Taha Shah, Poulomi Polo Das, Tushar Khanna, and Smaran Sahu in main roles. The second season has a total of 10 episodes and was released on 15th March 2021 on ALT Balaji.

If you've watched the first season then you know how it ended. Anaysha (Subha Rajput), Kashti (Priya Banerjee), and her sister played a game exposing the best-selling author Kiyan Roy's (Rajeev Siddhartha) real face that he's a sexual predator. And now Kiyan has returned with a new face, now played by Taher Shabbir, who seeks revenge from Anaysha and Kashti. Anaysha is now living her dream life all thanks to the success of her novel Bekaaboo and is physically intimate with her dance teacher Shaurya Arora (Tushar Khanna) and with Bidita (Poulomi Polo Das) whereas Kashti has opened her own restaurant "Late Cumers" and has a new boyfriend Novin (Taha Shah). Kiyan starts giving Anaysha terrors but one-day Kiyan is found dead in her apartment. So who's the killer? Akash (Smaran Sahu) is investigating the case and Anaysha, Kashti, Bidita and Shaurya are the prime suspects.

The story is by Novoneel Chakraborty and screenplay by Akshay Chaubey with additional screenplay and dialogues are by Aarambhh M Singh and Vaibhav Modi. I don't know where to begin, the first season is also not good but it's constantly watchable. But about this - there is absolutely no purpose as to what the writers want to show here. Rajeev Siddhartha is a fine actor and thanks to God that he's not here in this awful sequel. This new season is also about revenge as it clearly states "Let the Revenge Begin" at the beginning of the first episode only.

How Kiyan got access to all the controls of Anaysha's building? If you find this answer then comment and explain to me please. Then there was a spider scene where Anaysha falls off from her balcony, she was saved but....what was that? So poor and unconvincing. Rather than being shocked, I was laughing. There is no depth in any of the characters, we know about Anaysha, Kashti, and Kiyan but here the execution of everything is so bad that nothing actually matters. The actors are making love to each other by bouncing on one another, everyone has a secret, and twists and turns to seem to be never-ending here.

He's with her, no...she is his girlfriend, no.... she's was spying on him, they are boyfriend and girlfriend. The makers have done nothing but cooked a khichdi of relationships where everyone is enjoying and giving and taking pleasures from everyone. There's nothing to say about this show, just another ALT Balaji show - a crap with loads of adult scenes that are also terrible, and when Akash says in the climax "let's start from the beginning" - what???? Spare Us, please. Then three actress enters with a swag (I was laughing) and again there is a twist. And again there is a voice-over that says 'is this story over yet or is this just an interval?'. I was laughing constantly - what to do.

The performances are decent. Priya Banerjee as Kashti shines again bringing an oomph to her character that was required. Subha Rajput as Anaysha was good. Trishna Mukherjee as Natasha also leaves her mark. Taher Shabbir as Kiyan was irritating and Taha Shah and Tushar Khanna are there just to flaunt their body. Poulomi Polo Das as Bidita was impressive.

The cinematography by Arjun Wishwas Sorte is good. The show looks beautiful and vivid and the credit also goes to the production designer. The background music by Harshwardhan Dixit is loud but nice and the songs by Sangeet Haldipur are melodious. The editing by Jayant H Verma is crisp.

Bekaaboo 2 is a BIG NO. The writers struggle in developing a nice storyline to its predecessor so they overstuffed the show with bold scenes and twists and turns which after a point of time becomes a pain. After seeing everything you will see how foolish this show is. No character development, no emotional attachment with any characters - everything is being spoon-fed to you here with voiceovers. Skip this season, if you've watched the first season then don't watch this one as it will ruin what you think of season one.
