11 Worst Hindi films of 2020.

In 2020, many movies made their presence felt with their very fresh storyline like Unpaused and Chintu ka Birthday whereas there were many socially relevant and message-oriented films. But, there were also some movies there were total crap and irrelevant. This post is dedicated to the list of the top 11 worst films of 2020. Keep scrolling....

11. Maska.

Directed by Neeraj Udhwani, Maska is a story of an aspiring actor but after meeting a girl he discovers something inside him that makes him take the responsibility of running his father's cafe and making and serving Bun Maska. Well, the story could have worked but the character appears so artificial and the screenplay is so unconvincing, nothing clicks your heart. Starring Manisha Koirala, Prit Kamani, Nikita Dutta, and Shirley Setia, this film had to be on this list. You can find it on Netflix.

10. Virgin Bhanupriya.

Don't know what was the writer thinking when he wrote this utter crap. Urvashi Rautela as Bhanupriya Awasthi will always remain a virgin, who cares if you don't establish the central character. The film doesn't rise above its mediocrity and hence fails to make any sense. It was released on Zee5.

09. Mrs. Serial Killer.

This film had so much potential. Jacqueline Fernandez as Sona Mukherjee who's husband Mrityunjoy Mukherjee (Manoj Bajpayee) is accused of killing six girls who went missing and was found in one of their property. Sona tries to kill another girl to make people believe that the serial killer is still on the loose and her husband is innocent. The story is bizarre but could have worked. But the characters just appears fake and the production design too. The film has zero thrills and hence a worthy contender for this list. You can find it on Netflix.

08. Street Dancer 3D.

Why dance movies are not made simple? Why make things complicated when it could have been a cakewalk? Directed by Remo D'Souza and starring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhu Deva, and Nora Fatehi, this movie has a patriotic angle that doesn't add up and feels contrived and so is helping the immigrants. You could have named it ABCD 3, why to waste the name Street Dancer. Adding Bezubaan Kab Se which is a rip-off of the ABCD song Bezubaan doesn't make this any different from the franchise. It is very long and tiring movie. You can stream it on Amazon Prime Video.

07. Chhapaak.

Starring Deepika Padukone and directed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal. I wanted this movie to be good but sadly this turns out to be impactless. Our sympathy for Alka (Deepika Padukone) doesn't really reach out nor it evokes any. It's bland and the dull execution even makes it worse. The makeup is inconsistent and Deepika appears to be trying very hard. But sadly the film is caught up in a courtroom drama and the love life of Alka and Amol (Vikrant Massey) which hardly affects you. You can stream it on Disney+ Hotstar.

06. Love Aajkal 2020.

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, he thought casting a breaking news pair Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan in his awfully dreadful film thinking maybe their charm and magic could makes this a hit. But a story this foolish was not at all destined to be a hit. There was no character development at all and Sara's character was such garbage and nonsensical that it helped this movie to fall flat easily. Love Aaj Kal of 2009 was at least watchable and has a charm now also but, what was this? To see you can stream it on Netflix.

05. Durgamati: The Myth.

Twisting the whole story at the climax is a clever thing to do but here Durgamati tests your patience from the start and hence you don't care whatever happens at the end. Produced by Akshay Kumar, directed by G. Ashok, and starring Bhumi Pednekar in the title role, this movie proved to be a yawn fest. It does have many hyper-energetic scenes but that is merely unnecessary chaos. This film is very lazily executed and the uneven dubbing makes it even worse. You can stream it on Amazon Prime Video if you want to.

04. Baaghi 3.

This is a brilliant example of sleeping and writing. The film appears rubbish even on paper. From where does this confidence is coming to make a film out of it? Directed by Ahmed Khan, who thought that no Indians have watched Wonder Woman, blatantly copy the action scenes and moves. But surprisingly that's the only good thing here. Other than that the action sequences are very much over the top and the terrible acting from Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor (wait, she was in this movie, doing what?) and Riteish Deshmukh didn't help this movie from sinking. One man standing against a country, it is too much. What scares me is that the inevitable Baaghi 4 might be on its way. You can stream it on Disney+ Hotstar if you want.

03. Laxmii.

Directed by Raghava Lawrence who also directed the original Kanchana in 2011 from which Laxmii is based, it fails to entertain and that's the major drawback of this film. The film proves to be nothing but a headache later with its unnecessary loud characters and music and over the top insanity and madness. Sharad Kelkar is a star of this film despite the presence of Akshay Kumar who looks like a caricature and nothing more. What made them remake Kanchana who has its own fan base and ruin it? This is an outdated story from 2011 set in 2020. You can stream it on Disney+ Hotstar if you want.

02. Sadak 2.

A sequel to the 1991 film Sadak, starring Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt, Jisshu Sengupta, and Aditya Roy Kapur, emerged as the worst sequel ever made. Revolving around unraveling a fake godman, the film continuously delivers many terrible twists that will make you laugh. Overall the story was total crap and Mahesh Bhatt's direction is very poor and reminds you of the 90s. Sanjay Dutt was at least sincere but other than that there was nothing good or at least average about this immense baloney. You can stream it on Disney+ Hotstar.

01. Coolie No. 1.

Undoubtedly the top spot is booked by David Dhawan for his pyaara beta starrer Coolie No. 1. There's nothing positive about this film and appears to be complete idiocy from the first frame. From cheap WhatsApp jokes that fail to evoke any laugh and the outdated story blatantly adapted from the 1995 film just doesn't work. Sara's character is a total fool and Varun Dhawan is doing mimicry all around the film and appears a total cartoon. I felt very bad for Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Johnny Lever who are wasted here. This film is very unoriginal from copying/adapting the story to remix songs, this was an irrelevant and unneeded film and so it is easily the worst film of 2020. You can stream it on Amazon Prime Video if you want.

Special mention - Shimla Mirchi, Bhangra Paa Le, Jai Mummy Di, Happy Hardy Heer, Shikara, What Are The Odds, Ghoomketu, Class Of 83 - Theses were also some films that proved to be utter crap.
