I instantly fall in love with Billie's dreamy voice when I first listened to the heartbreaking song Lovely in April 2018. I searched her on the internet and read her Wikipedia page, I was stunned to see the year when she was born. It's 2001, she's a teenager!!! And she's is so good, her voice has spine chilling effect in that song.
The same feeling I had after watching the documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry. She uploaded her first song 'Ocean Eyes' on SoundCloud in 2015 and she was getting noticed after that and that song finally got released commercially in 2016 and was also featured in the film Everything Everything in 2017. Just wow...and from then the life of this teenage girl has not been that of a normal teenager. Seeing her journey as she records her first album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? is breathtaking, and watching her making songs with her brother Fienneas O'Connell in their room is so beautiful, you will want to hug her.
Apart from the tour, you will also get to see what Billie is as a person. Her heartwarming and sometimes serious conversations with her brother, mother, and father add depth to this film. She never went to school but she graduated, she has done some crazy things because of her Tourette's, she doesn't want any of her fans to know who she's or to find her in an awkward situation - the name and fame come with such tough things and Billie's condition about Tourette was also not known to anyone.
Her obsession with Justin Bieber is also shown - the moment where Bieber sends Bad Guy in his voice, Billie's expression is priceless. The moment where she met Justin Bieber at the concert where Billie hugged him like a fan. Katy Perry warning her about how the first ten years will fly by in a click that she'll not even remember it and not recognizing Orlando Bloom - all these will make you fall in love with this rising star.
A fan in one scene screams "Billie you saved my life", it was a tear-jerker and that comment is the biggest thing any artist will hear in their entire life. Starting her journey making songs in the living room and getting nominated for six Grammys, and winning it all - she's ruling the world with her beautiful songs which have the power to give you goosebumps and take you to another world. She has the Grammys, her dream car, so this staggering 140 minutes documentary is surely uplifting and emotional, and inspiring. Just like Billie says, "We made this album in a bedroom at our house that we grew up in. And it was mastered in somebody's living room, so it is really like anything is possible".
