Slaxx Review : A Fun and Enjoyable Horror Movie and is Thought-Provoking too

Slaxx is a horror comedy film directed by Elza Kephart. It stars Romane Denis, Brett Donahue, Sehar Bhojani, and Stephen Bogaert in lead roles and will premiere on 18th March 2021 on Shudder.

Libby McClean (Romane Denis) has joined the Canadian Cotton Clothiers known for its extraordinary variety of denim and different dresses. Today is the day when they will unveil their new CCC collection called the Super Shaper pants, an advanced item produced using cotton that is only grown in India. Nobody is permitted to see it till the morning thus the store is in lockdown and all the telephone connections are cut off. That is the way by which CCC works. There's nothing the representatives can do till eight in the morning. Jemma (Hanneke Talbot) wears one of the Super Shaper pants and that denim slaughters her, it slices her down the middle from the waistline. Hunter, another worker gets killed, so what does this Evil Denim want? Will Libby survives her first day of work?

Patricia Gomez and Elza Kephart have written the film and hats off to them to put such an unusual, strange however extraordinary thought on the screen about killer pants. We have a killer house, dolls, a gown, and so forth and this might have been effectively the most absurd thing to see on screen and it's insane yet it was so fun and engaging, it's amazingly done, I'm enchanted. Although there is no extent of any sort of well-established characters in this thin plot story, it effectively figures out how to be likable.

Particularly, Libby and Shruti (Sehar Bhojani). I loved them. Libby has begun her work and it's her first day here though Shruti likes to remain alone and she doesn't tune in to Bollywood music, since she's Indian doesn't mean she needs to. Furthermore, as the villain, there is Craig (Brett Donahue) who needs this night to work out in a good way as he wants to get promoted to become the regional manager, so he starts to dump the dead bodies and warns Libby not to create havoc. There's a back story too as expected, and brings up issues and concerns about child labor and a portion of the filthy work that this enormous manufacturing organization hides in. Making the item with genetically engineered cotton and promoting it as natural cotton and selling it for $150. There is an adequate amount of killings in a mere 77 minutes film therefore for horror fans, it's a treat.

Romane Denis as Libby and Sehar Bhojani as Shruti are reasonably good though Brett Donahue as Craig was astounding as the cunning and selfish manager and other actors also leave their marks. Overall performances are good.

The cinematography by Steve Asselin is brilliant. The film doesn't resemble a B-Horror film and it's a good-looking film, everything is effortlessly captured. The art director Geneviève Huot did a great job and the music by Delphine Measroch is fun and fits the film and the editing is sharp.

Slaxx with two x is a horror movie that is fun and engaging and has a ghost that likes Bollywood music and wears a bindi. That is the thing that intrigued me to enter this film and I can say that I had a great time. It's doesn't disappoint in gore and has a thin plot and is fine. However, what I liked about this film is that it stand against child labor. It is a very much simplified film that was fun and charming and thought-provoking simultaneously. A pair of pants dancing on Bollywood music is just something odd to observe however it captivated me.

Rating:- 3/5
