The Wolf Of Snow Hollow : Review

The Wolf Of Snow Hollow : Review

The Wolf Of Snow Hollow is an American Horror Comedy film written and directed by Jim Cummings. It stars Jim Cummings, Riki Lindhome, Robert Forster (his final film), and Chloe East in the main role. This film was released on Video On Demand on 9th October 2020.

The movie starts by showing PJ (Jimmy Tatro) and his girlfriend Brianne (Annie Hamilton) who have rented a house in Snow Hollow. But one night, Brianne is brutally killed and torn into pieces by a wolf. The next day, all the police officers have arrived at the place, include Officer John Marshall (Jim Cummings), Officer Julia Robson (Riki Lindhome), and Sheriff Hadley (Robert Forster), who is also the father of John Marshall. All are shocked to see the kind of brutality and everyone is saying that it might be the wolf as there was a paw print on the body. But John was sure that it's just a guy. The killing happens again the next day and again the after day. Will John be able to solve the case? Will this werewolf stop killing? Watch the movie for the answers.

The story and screenplay by Jim Cummings are decent. But I like the way comedy has been used in the film. They do not seem to be forced, that's the best thing about the movie. You'll laugh by watching all the characters and their response to certain things which they've never dealt with before. The kind of Killing that's happening in Snow Hollow is their first and hence there are many theories about the killing among the officers. Jim also succeeds in bringing John Marshall to life, on the script level. Apart from the killings, he's dealing with his sick father, his daughter who doesn't listen to him, his divorced wife who hates him very much, and to be sober since he left alcohol.

Jim Cummings is very entertaining as Jon Marshall, he's amazing in many scenes but also not so good in some scenes. Riki Lindhome as Officer Julia has done a fine job as the calm and supportive partner of John. Robert Forster as Sheriff Hadley shines in every scene. Chloe East as Jenna Marshall is very confident and has done a good job as John's daughter, there is one scene of her in which she proves what a strong actress she is.

The cinematography by Natalie Kingston is good and gives you the chills of Snow Hollow. The dark blue-white shade sets the mood of the movie as a thriller. Other aspects are also quite good, doesn't make you feel like watching a low-budget horror movie.

John Cummings' The Wolf of Snow Hollow is a movie that's serious at its core, but at the same time evokes many laughs too, just like his acting which is also very unique and unusual. It has a crisp runtime of only 1 hour 24 minutes. It's not that good but not that bad either.

Rating:- 3/5
