Bullets is an Indian Hindi Action Thriller series directed by Devang Dholakia. It stars Sunny Leone and Karishma Tanna in lead roles along with Viveck Vaswani, Deepak Tijori, Farid Amiri, Amaan Khan, Shawn Arahan, Areez Gandhi, and Taha Shah in supporting roles. It has a total of 6 episodes and was released on 8th January 2021 on MX Player.
First Tina (Sunny Leone) and Lolo (Karishma Tanna) are shooting at someone and the car just blows up. Now cut to 15 days earlier, at a party where many A-list celebrities are invited, Sunil Korade who's is the son of Hemant Korade (Viveck Vaswani) who is a big politician is also invited. Tina is the girlfriend of Sunil but he used to sexually harass her and one night, Lolo encounters Sunil when he was abusing and mistreating Tina. Lolo stands up to help her, just like any other woman would do, but in that fight they unintentionally kill him.
Now his father politician Hemant Korade wants to avenge his son's death and sends a hitman Ketu (Deepak Tijori) to kill them. Police are also investigating the case simultaneously and Hemant seems to have a personal grudge against Lolo who has a hard drive that contains a video of a sting operation of him in a meeting which could reveal his true face in front of the country of his involvement in dealing illegal arms with other countries. Lolo and Tina are now on the runaway from police and the hitman Ketu and Hemant Korade as they are now been declared as 'wanted criminals'.
The story and screenplay are by Devang Dholakia and Vayu Shrivastav and it can be said that it is good on paper but watching it as a series with two beautiful woman Sunny Leone and Karishma Tanna in the lead and so lazily executed, it made me feel 'what am I watching' and bad for the two leads. There is no character development whatsoever and the characters are so shoddy that you won't be feeling anything for them, especially the two leading heroines.
Tina's character goes through a change from being a normal girl to a caricature to an action heroine in just merely a 2-hour runtime. Lolo who is a hacker, so with a sharp brain, stupidly shares everything with her new friend Mario (Taha Shah) who she met in 2007 in a trek and a party yesterday, how thoughtful of her!! Towards the last episodes, everything is so hurriedly shown as if the writers have given up on this, and yes, it is the worst show I've ever seen.
Sunny Leone and Karishma Tanna try to bring light on this already dead script but what's dead is dead. Deepak Tijori as Ketu just hams throughout and Viveck Vaswani as Hemant Korade is also impactless as the villain. Amaan Khan and Taha Shah look earnest in their roles but sadly they won't be able to save this.
The cinematography by Arvind Singh is good in parts and the production design by Nilesh Chaudhary is surprisingly impressive. Music by Ikka, Arko and Dharam and Sandeep delivers one-two good songs but are easily forgettable. The editing by Sanjay S Ingle is sharp but a mess in the climax.
So if you're thinking of watching Bullets just because of the attraction, Sunny Leone and Karishma Tanna, then don't. It's bland and unintentionally funny in many parts. There's one female reporter - for what? She did nothing here apart from delivering some lines which are heavy philosophically. The political angle doesn't work as it has not given any importance nor any action scenes. Don't know what it wants to be, an action or a thriller or just a stylishly shot poor series that almost has nothing solid to offer. It had the potential of delivering a strong message but the poor execution sabotaged everything.
